Prerequisites
To attend this course you will need Yachtmaster Offshore shore-based and MCA-recognised Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competency.
Prior to achieving Master 200gt, you must also hold the following certificates:
– STCW Basic Safety Training
– GMDSS Restricted Operators Certificate (ROC)
– HELM Operational
Course Content
This preparation course covers all aspects of navigational safety with an emphasis on collision regulations, operational safety, responses to emergencies and pollution control. Also included are aspects of Master Business and Law.
Subject to the successful completion of an MCA Oral examination: Master (Code vessels less than 200gt not more than 150 miles from a safe haven) / Officer of the Watch (Yachts less than 500gt).
The course duration is eight days of tuition over two weeks, and is booked bespokely upon request.
The assessment is a MCA Master (Code vessels less than 200gt) oral examination.
