As part of East Coast College’s work to support the local economy and expand the range of courses it offers, the college has opened a new Civil Engineering and Construction Campus in Lound.

Designed to fill the future skills gap in the sector and help the government achieve its ‘net zero’ target, the new campus offers a variety of courses to support those seeking training to enter the civil engineering sector as well as commercial courses to aid employment and the diversity of site skills. It also provides training for regional infrastructure projects, as well as working with tier one contractors and supply chains to ensure a regional skills base.

The campus will host a range of training and sector experience days to support career choices, as well as training to meet the needs of young people through apprenticeships and adults through retraining courses. Commercial courses will include plant training, groundworks and site management.
