Course Content
This course is designed to provide delegates with the essential knowledge and practical experience required to work safely in medium risk confined spaces, in accordance with UK health and safety regulations. Participants will explore key topics including the definition of a confined space, specified risks, legal duties under the Confined Space Regulations 1997 and the importance of preventing entry where possible. The course covers risk assessment, hazard identification, atmospheric hazards and the use of gas monitoring equipment. Delegates will also learn about safe systems of work, permits to work, roles and responsibilities, effective communication and the inspection and use of safety equipment such as tripods, winches, fall arrest systems and personal escape breathing apparatus. Practical exercises and assessments, including observation and a short answer question paper, ensure that learners can apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
