So far this year East Coast Training Academy has welcomed two groups of delegates from Tullow, based in Ghana, to train in Managing Major Emergencies Offshore. They spent five days training in the Energy Skills Centre at our Lowestoft campus.

Specialist Trainer P. Connett who co-lead the groups said: ‘they came as individuals and left as a team that could handle any realistic emergency offshore’.

All of our training in this area is tailored specifically to the companies individual requirements and ability levels, and on this course, there was a mix of both theory and practical elements. One of the June students, M. Nunekpeku said ‘the simulators feel real and very practical’.

Another student, W. Okpoti, said that throughout the week at the Energy Skills Centre based in Suffolk, ‘I saw great improvement in my drills from Monday to Friday’.

East Coast Training Academy is an OPITO recognised centre for Oil and Gas, but also provides international training for wider sectors such as Offshore Wind. The team have an extensive range of experience in the energy sectors and can also support the review of emergency response plans and bespoke training for new staff.
