Prerequisites
This course is for the age of 16+ and for those who have an interest in gaining the knowledge to work safely within the automotive retail industry, as the growth of hydrogen vehicles continues.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Course Content
This course is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the knowledge of safe working practices, the dangers surrounding, and the precautions required to avoid potential injury when near hydrogen vehicles.
This qualification offers an introduction to this specialised industry sector which, in addition to complimenting their current industry qualifications and experience, will enable students to continue to work safely within their role. These roles can include, but are not limited to, non-technical individuals, such as:

- Valeters
- Parts personnel
- Sales and aftersales personnel
- Event team
- Fleet Managers and personnel
- Vehicle recovery personnel
- Vehicle dismantlers
- Vehicle damage assessors
- Insurance companies
- Vehicle hire companies
- Hydrogen vehicle drivers
The content of this qualification has been designed to give students the knowledge required to work safely around hydrogen vehicles. It contains one unit covering:
- The types of hydrogen vehicles available
- Hazards associated with hydrogen vehicle systems
- Working safely around hydrogen vehicles including refuelling
Once the course is completed successfully, students will acquire significant core knowledge of working safely around, but not maintaining, hydrogen.
